Hello Shannon,
Thanks for the great site. My husband and I share your love with bison too! We have been on a low calorie diet / lifestyle for about 4 years now and feel the same way about meat. We are also so used to the leaner meats such as bison and ostrich that we really can't eat the others. :-)

We love to share recipes therefore if you have any bison ones please send them! If interested one of our favorites is our Bison Stir fry with Quinoa. It's only 235 calories per person although you can definitely change some of the veggies if you would like. You can find it under our 'Recommended Recipe' or 'Food Findings' section.

Hope you like the recipe and look forward to reading more.
I am not even remotely kidding when I say this: There is not a snowball's chance in hell that we would ever eat fresh vegetables at home if it weren't for steam-in-the-bag veggies. They have saved us. We'll even it broccoli, since it's so darn easy.

Because I live with a vegetarian (which I'll never understand, but I have come to accept), I hadn't attempted chili around our house. But the "chili weather" got the best of me today, and I substituted Morning Star fake hamburger crumbles for the ground beef. It turned out pretty darn good, considering. But the best part: I'd forgotten how good it is to walk in your front door after you've had chili goin' in the slow cooker for a few hours. Mmmm. Ooh, added tip: I didn't have crackers, but I had tortilla wraps. So I sprayed aluminum foil with Pam, cut the tortillas into triangles, and threw a little salt and pepper on 'em, popped em in the oven at 350 til crispy. Instant tortilla chips. And kinda healthy too.

Love you on wcbi morning show!!! That Cuisinart mixer today was thuh bomb! Can't wait to make your pork ribs in my slow cooker. I graduated from the W before the earth cooled, or maybe when dinosaurs roamed about and love that you are such a great ambassador for "MSCW." The first time I ever saw you, in your chef jacket, I almost changed the channel thinking you were going to launch into something I could not pronounce, spell and certainly not prepare. What a lovely surprise! Have been up with the chickens watching you ever since. Love your blog too. You're the greatest.

I remember the bourbon balls from Thanksgiving trips to Kosciusko! My mother called them Tipsy Balls, and you're right-- they were NASTY! The bourbon was still seeping out of them in the cookie tin. We will not eat anything that has seepage!
